This post is a special gift to our Divine animal family and friends and the humans who care for them.
Millions of us have a dog, cat, or other animal(s) as a companion or a friend. They bring us so much joy and happiness through their unconditional love. Their love for us is so powerful that they often risk their lives to save and protect ours. Such love, sacrifice and loyalty seems more Divine and angelic in quality than mere friends and companions.
They seem more like angels than animals here on earth. They love, give, and serve like angelic beings. However, when these Divine canine and feline friends or family members are injured, most of the times we are at lost and don’t know what to do other than bring them to a animal hospital. Surely there must be more that we can do for our Divine Angelic friends before or after they receive medical care. Indeed there is, through holistic healing and interspecies communication skills.
Developing holistic and communication skills are blessings that serve everyone. These gifts of knowledge activated by service are invitations for our Divine Presence to work miracles through us. We become instruments of God’s healing power when we offer our service to help others for the highest of all concerned.
Within this in mind, today I have a very special guest-Kathryn Shanti Ariel, interspecies communicator, mystic, healer, teacher, Theta Practitioner and author.
Kathryn has taken much of her experience as a first aide instructor, healer, mystic and Divine Spiritual Being to create an amazing holistic approach that facilitates harmony, oneness and healing with our Divine canine and feline family members, the Universe and us. Her first published book is Holistic Emergency Care and Trauma Recovery for Animals. Please welcome her as she enlightens us to the world of holistic healing to our Divine animal friends and family.
Thank you Blake, I deeply appreciate being a guest on your blog. Although the focus here is our animal friends and family, my knowledge of holistic & integrative healing and facilitation is as much for humans as it is for animals. Truly, my initial training was for human applications through the Red Cross and other organizations.
However, my world has always be full of animals, both companion and wild. So as my knowledge grew, my animal friends drew me into a more expanded conversation on how to apply my wisdom to them as well.
As you have stated in your lovely introduction, the first of my books to be published is Holistic Emergency Care and Trauma Recovery for Animals. However what I write, consult and educate about is also for humans. So when you are reading my words, understand that unless stated otherwise, the wisdom included can be shared across species. This is why I call my work Holistic Emergency Care and Trauma Recovery for Humans and Animals Alike!
There is much information to share within the context of Holistic Emergency Care so for the purpose of this blog I will focus on:
Holistic Healing in the Immediacy of Emergencies, Acute Illness or Traumas
Few things are more unsettling to people than when their animal family member or an animal in their care is injured or ill. In my experience this is partly a response to the innocent nature of animals (their close connection to the Divine), and also a sense within most people of not being able to communicate with them or having an understanding of the animals anatomy or physiology.
These beliefs put many people in a state of helplessness. The goal of what I share is to raise people’s awareness by providing holistic tools, interspecies communication basics, and a greater state of self-empowerment in emergencies, trauma and acute illness. First and foremost in any situation, no matter how dire or seemingly simple is to :
- Breathe
- Center in your heart (“I AM the Light of the God I AM …I AM the Love of the God I AM”)
- Put forth the intention for God/Creator/I AM to make you an instrument of peace, harmony and healing. (St. Francis “Oh Lord, make me your instrument of peace”)
- Breathe
- Listen to your intuition
- Then proceed into a place of action. à (Based upon what you have intuitively been given or that your wisdom already is telling you (or both)).
This may seem like a lot of things to remember. However I encourage you to practice these steps in your day to day life so that if (more like when) an emergency or illness requires your assistance, you can respond with these steps from memory.
I feel to note here that this is how people such as first responders and fire crews learn. They get the elements of knowledge and then practice them in what are called scenarios, so that in real-time emergencies they are just habit. I encourage people to do this in all areas of healing modalities and other life situations with and without our animals that may required deep intuitive responses.
Assessing the Situation
Next is to assess what is occurring, whether you can facilitate the necessary healing holistically yourself; whether a doctor or veterinarian is required; or both. The answer to this inquiry largely has to do with what wisdom and resources you have on hand. These include:
A deep recognition and understanding of the importance of treating all bodies (physical, mental and feeling). This is the holistic way.
- A deep recognition and understanding of the importance of treating all bodies (physical, mental and feeling). This is the holistic way.
- Knowledge of first aid, acute illness and/or trauma recovery
- Knowledge of energy healing (Theta healing, Reiki, Jin Shin Jyutsu, etc.)
- Holistic & Integrative tools, such as homeopathy, herbs, flower essences, integrative 1st aid tools, energy healing, etc.
(These are things that I cover in detail in my book. )
It also has to do with the severity of the situation, the distance to an appropriate medical facility (veterinarian or doctor/hospital), or if your intuition indicates that going to a medical facility is the highest choice for all involved or not.
My experience is that many emergencies and illnesses are easily dealt with at home or on sight IF you have holistic/integrative training and tools. Yet most importantly is to be prepared for instances when getting to a medical facility is not readily available. This could be in a rural setting, after hours (for vets), or in some kind of disaster.
Knowledge is power and peace when it comes to healing. For more information I encourage you to purchase my book and follow my website. I am also available for personal consultations and group trainings.
Blessings to Everyone and Everything. Namaste! ~ Kathryn Shanti Ariel
